Title
Hello and welcome to the Public Health Networks Zone!
The PHRU is here to offer support and guidance to Public Health Networks whatever stage of their ‘journey’ they’re on, from starting-up to flourishing.  So, if you have any network-related questions or issues, we’re here to help.  If you can’t find what you’re looking for here please do get in touch.  The Public Health Networks Zone is also a ‘community hub’ space where Networks can share news and information on issues of mutual interest - we hope you'll find it useful.
Setting up Alerts
Did you know that if you have a login & password you can set up alerts on the Public Health Networks Zone site (and the other phru.net pages too) which means that you'll be sent an email if something new is added?  Just follow the link below to find step by step instructions on how to set up alerts. It's quick and very easy to do and means you can stay up to date with the goings-on of the networks.

...Learning & workforce Development Planning 2010-2011

The learning and workforce development team want YOUR input to their planning for next year’s programme of learning events, including support for networks!

We want to hear about topics, ways of learning, resources for learning so we can make what we offer fit closely with your needs.

KSF outlines, competencies for public health practice, the workforce development implications of HEAT targets all inform our planning but YOU are the key component.

If you or your team would like to input to our planning please contact us via

Public Health Networks Resource Pack
27/11/2009 12:27
We have now added our 'Public Health Networks Resource Pack' to the Quick Launch Bar to the left of our homepage.  The pack is in 4 sections; Introduction, Getting Started, PHRU Extranet and Learning.  We've added a range of useful resources for networks that can be printed off if needed (or forward the link to members to save on paper!).  We hope you'll all find this helpful.  Don't forget you can also access other organisations 'toolkits' on the Signposting section of this site.

Citizens Theatre Workshop (Netfest 2009) Notesmasks
27/11/2009 12:20
We are very pleased to have been given an information sheet outlining all the fun (and useful!) activities that went on during the Citizens Theatre 'Communication' workshops at Netfest 2009.  This is a great reminder for those who were there as a handy resource for those who weren't able to come along - why not give it a go in your office!  The guide can be found following the link below and is located on the 'Netfest' webpage.

One way networks can make learning and face-to-face discussion possible amongst its members is through the PHRU Seminar Programme. Seminars can be an hour long ‘bring your lunch’ session, a full day event or something in between. They usually cover current projects or pieces of research.

Previous seminars include the Children and Young People’s Health Improvement Network presenting on an evaluation of a parenting programme and the Mental Health Improvement Network’s successful ‘Research in Mind’ seminars, which are ongoing.  The Sexual Health Improvement Network also holds lively whole day events around current topics.

Keep an eye on www.phru.net for more announcements and for details on how to book a place. You can also find more information on each event on the networks own web pages (link below), which you can also access through the PHRU homepage.

For papers and resources from previous seminars, follow the second link below.

If your network is interested in hosting a seminar or would like more information please contact the PHRU on PHRU@ggc.scot.nhs.uk
